NRC IE BULLETIN NO. 83-06, DATED JULY 22, 1983 MATERIALS SUPPLIED BY TUBE-LINE CORPORATION HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION

'The following final report is provided in response to the subject Bulletin.
Responses have been received from all suppliers that furnished ASME Section III fittings-for the-Hope Creek Project.
Based on this input and our on-site investigation, we have established that:
- Twenty-four carbon steel flanges supplied by Tube-Line were installed on our Emergency Diesel Generatorsi by Colt Industries;
- 578 fittings were received from two suppliers on four bulk purchase orders; and
- No Tube-Line fittings, beyond the twenty-four described above, have been identified as installed in safety related systems.
Nonconformance Reports have been issued to control and docu-ment the disposition of those materials received on the four bulk purchase. orders.
These fittings have been identified as installed 11n non-safety related systems, removed-from inventory or determined to be missing.

5/25/84 Th'e heat numbers of those items identifiedi as missing have been added to the checklist to be used during N-5 data package review.
Items identified during package review as having these heat numbers shall be cut out and replaced with acceptable fittings.
This administrative control will
-assure that the missing nonconforming fittings have not been installed in any ASME Section III system.
Colt Industries utilized twenty-four Tube-Line flanges in the manufacture of our Emergency Diesel Generators.
The use of these flanges for their intended service is acceptable in accordance with ASME Code Case N-242 which is referenced in the applicable specification.
