STATEMENT OF ltOEPEbOENCE AFFIDAVIT OF DR. JOSEPH M. HENDRIE s

My name is Joseph M. Hendrie. I render services for TERA Corporation as an independent contractor under an associate services agreement.

I am currently assigned to the team which is conducting on independent design and construction verification (IDCV) at the Midland Nuclear Plant site. I have never been employed by Consumers Power Company, Bechtel, or Babcock and Wilcox Company.

I do not own any shares of Consumers Power Company, Bechtel, or Babcock and Wilcox stock. Mutual fund or other funds in which I may have a beneficial interest, but over which I have no control, may own shares of Consumers Power Company, Bechtel, or Babcock and Wilcox stock, of which I am unaware. I have no immediate family members or close relatives who are or have been employed by Consumers Power Company, Bechtel, or Babcock and Wilcox.

Prior to my current assignment with TERA Corporation, I served from 1966 to 1972 on the Atomic Energy Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards; from 1972 through 1974 as Deputy Director of Licensing for Technical Review on the Regulatory Staff of the Atomic Energy Commission, o position in which I was in charge of the regulatory technical staff performing reviews of reactor plant applications, including Midland; and from 1977 to 1981 as chairman and a commissioner of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Itis possible that during my service on the ACRS, the AEC regulatory staff, or the Commission I had some participation in matters affecting the Midland project opplications. To the best of my knowledge I did not, in those periods of service, provide safety evaluations on aspects of the Midland project applications, nor do I recall any matter connected with Midland relating to issues that I am reviewing within the scope of the Midland IDCV program.

Prior to my current assignment with TERA Corporation, I served from 1966 to 1972 on the Atomic Energy Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards; from 1972 through 1974 as Deputy Director of Licensing for Technical Review on the Regulatory Staff of the Atomic Energy Commission, a position in which I was in charge of the regulatory technical staff performing reviews of reactor plant applications, including Midland; and from 1977 to 1981 as chairman and a commissioner of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. It is possible that during my service on the ACRS, the AEC regulatory staff, or the Commission I had some participation in matters affecting the Midland project applications. To the best of my knowledge i did not, in those periods of service, provide safety evaluations on aspects of the Midland project applications, nor do I recall any matter connected with Midland relating to issues that I am reviewing within the scope of the Midland IDCV program.
