HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT - OPERATING LICENSE STAGE DOCKET NO. 50-354 Enclosed with this letter are the written responses to questions from Mr. L. Byroski, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Site Analysis Branch, concerning the Hope Creek Generating Station Environmental Report - Operating License Stage.
The questions were transmitted to PSE&G through a telephone conversation with Mr. Byroski on April 20, 1984.
At the request of Mr. David Wagner, answers have been previously submitted through telephone conversations between Mr. Byroski and PSE&G personnel.

Table.2.6-1 " Historic Properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places as of February 7,1984, within 16 kilometers (10 miles) of Hope Creek Generating Station" will be amended to include the following:
a.
Odessa, Old St. Paul Methodist Episcopal Church, High Street, b.
St. Georges, Vernacular Frame House, Delaware Street.
c.
St. Georges Vicinity, Starl House, US 13.
d.
St. Georges Vicinity, W. Caseperson House, Kirkwood Road.
la. All four sites will be listed on Figure 2.6-1 " Historic
' Sites within 16' kilometers (10 miles) of Site."
lb. Site Nos. 43, 46, 48, should remain on Figure 2.6-1.
New Castle County Planning Department, New Castle, Delaware has reconfirmed that all three sites are listed on National Register of Historic Places.

Text (Page 2.6-2) and Figure 2.6-1 will be amended to include a historic site listed as eligible for inclusion on National Register Historic Places.
That site is:
a.
Taylors Bridge,. Reedy Island Range Rear Lighthouse.

A portion of the Hope Creek-Keeney transmission line located in Delaware is the property of Delmarva Power and Light Company.
A letter was sent on November 22, 1982, by PSE&G to the Delaware State Historic Preservation Officer giving him an opportunity to comment on Section 2.6 " Regional Historic, Archaeological, Architectural, Scenic, Cultural, and Natural Features."

The Emergency Operation Facility (EOF) is located in the Nuclear Training Center, Salem, New Jersey (7.5 miles northeast of Artificial Island).

A tax table for years 1987 through 1992 regarding l
estimated gross receipt, franchise and real estate taxes L
attributable to Hope Creek Generating Station has been supplied (See Attachment 1).

workers at Hope Creek Generating Station in 1987 is 18.564 million dollars (in 1983 dollars).

The estimated number of contract employees (security force) for Hope Creek Generating Station in 1987 is 140
.and there projected payroll is approximately 7 million dollars.(in 1984 dollars).

Based on.recent experience with the relocation of Nuclear Depar taent Staf f to Artificial Island, the projected patterns for HCGS operation workers in 1987 is as follows:
Gloucester County 30 percent, Salem County 20 percent, Burlington County 20 percent, Camden County 10 percent,. Eastern Delaware 10 percent, Cumberland County 5 percent, Others 5 percent.

The word " local" used in the description of contract employee living patterns is meant to encompass a 40 mile radius from Hope Creek Generating Station.
Based on present PSE&G expenditures, the projected

expenditures for goods and services purchased by PSE&G in 1987 for HCGS operation from local (within 50 mile r
radius of HCGS) suppliers is a range of approximately 5-15 million dollars (in 1984 dollars).
