Due to this coating these welds were deemed inaccessible.
i MPQAD investigated this situation and during subsequent discussions it was conveyed to CIO that the above listed welds, and others, were approved by R. Wells as inaccessible on CPCo Internal Correspondence No. JPC 01-84/BMP 29-84, dated 3-9-84.
However, after this approval it was determined that similar welds that were coated with epoxy would be cleaned using wire brushes.
Therefore some welds on the two lines were cleaned for QVP, and others were not cleaned.
The cleaning of welds was not made retroactive to cover the welds in the above referenced correspondence.
Welds 8, 10, 23, 43 and 71 are not physically inaccessible.
Please advise CIO of your resolution to this inconsistency.
