Dear Mr. Denton:
D0CKET NUMBER 50-483 UNION ELECTRIC COMPANY CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 VITAL AREA 000R CONTROLS The purpose of this letter is to inform you of certain changes in the Callaway Plant vital area door controls as shown in the Chapter 5 Figures 5.3-1 through 5.3-4 of Revision 3 of the Callaway Plant Physical Security Plan. Certain interior vital area doors that lie within a larger vital area will not be monitored or controlled by the security systein. Some non-vital doors which the Security Plan drawings show as controlled will not be controlled. These changes will be reflected in Revision 4 of the Secur,ity Plan which will be submitted to the NRC within 60 days of issuance of the Callaway Plant Operating License.
Union Electric does commit to and will respond to the vital area doors control-ling access to the following areas:
- 1) DC Power Sources and Plant Diesel Generators
- 2) Containment Building
- 3) Control Room
- 4) Alarm Stations
- 5) Onsite Vital Water Storage This inforreation was discussed with the NRC (G.Pirtic-Region III, J. Creed-Region III, R. Skelte:CMSS and D.Kasun-NMSS) on May 30,1984.
