20555 Gentlemen:
ULNRC-2608 DOCKET NUMBER 50"483 CALLAWAY PIANT FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPP-30 SEMI-ANNUAL RADIOACTIVE EFFLUJNT RELEASE REPORT A review of the Semi-Annual Effluent Release Reports (SERR) for the years 1987 through 1991 has revealed a problem with the way " burial" figures were reported.
In 1987, Callaway Plant began shipping dry active waste to waste processors for volume reduction prior to burial.
Volumes that were reported as " shipped" during that period were the actual volumes that Icft callaway Plant with no volume reduction factored in.
Table 3 for each of the SERR's between 1987 and 1991 have been updated and are attached to this letter.
Along with the above, this submittal includes an additional update to the July - December 1990 SERR and the July - December 1991 SERR.
The July - December 1990 SERR reported an unmonitored release which resulted in a dose to the closest member of the public of 7.5E-3 mrem.
While the release was identified in the SERR, the projected dose was not added to the total dose to the public due to normal operation.
Therefore, Tables 1A, 1B, 5,
6 and 7 of the July - December 1990 SERR were updated and are attached to this letter.
Tables 1A, 1B, 5,
6 and 7 of the July -
December 1991 SERR have been updated to reflect positive SR-90 sample analyses for the fourth quarterly composite samples which were unavailable from the contractor laboratory at the time of the SERR submittal.
These updated tables are also attached to this submittal.
