1 Hy Reference (b), '/ermont Yankee submitted a revised fuel performance code, FROSSTHY 2, l
for NRC review. In Reference (c), NRC re(uested additional infonnation from Vennont Yankee.
Responses to NRC's request for additiona: infonnation were provided by Vennont Yankee in References (d), (c), and (f).
In Reference (g), NRC transmittea to Vermont Yankee a summary report from llattelle Facific Northwest Laboratories (PNL) concerni,1g the remaining open issues regarding FROSSTEY 2 code review. Following receipt of Reference (g), a telephone conference was conducted twtween Vermont Yankee, NRL, and PNL on February 24,1992 to discuss a plan for rerolution of the concerns pmvided in Reference (g).
As a wsult of the February 24,1992 telecon, a four pan strategy for FROSSTFY 2 code review completion was established. This strategy is as follows: 1) Vermont Yankee cil submit responses to remaining LOCA related concems in March,1992; 2) a meeting will then be held at NRC headquaners between Vermont Yankee, NRC, and PNL to discuss resolution of remaining
'o_ pen issues (this meeting is now tentatively scheduled to occur on April 7,1992); 3) Vennont Yankee will submit responses to remaining non l.OCA related concerns by May,1992; and 4)-
4 NRC will complete ections in response to of Vermont Yankee's request for FROSSTEY-2 code approval.
The purpose of this transmittal is to fulfill Part 1 of the above-described four part action plan.
