DPR 22 OCTOIIR 15, 1976 Page 1 The general disctission has been abbreviated to specify that the preplanned lecture series and sminars are directed towards those areas where annual operator and senior operator written examinations indicate that mphasis in scope and depth of coverage is needed. The general statemmts concerning scheduling have been deleted as these requirements are specifically mentioned in later paragraphs. The second paragraph of sect.on 2.A has been changed to require a mininten of 2 hours2.314815e-5 days
5.555556e-4 hours
3.306878e-6 weeks
7.61e-7 months
of on-the-job -valuation each year. This extent of evaluation is sufficient because of tne comitment to aimlator refresher training.
The following paragraph has been added to st.ction 2.A. "A minimum period of three (3) days per two year licensing period will be spent at a simulator which has the characteristics of the plant for which the senior operator or reactor operator is licensed. This refresher training will expose the individual to simulated abnormal and emergency operation conditions".
Page 2 Section 2.C. has been revised to require a minimum of 80 hours9.259259e-4 days
0.0222 hours
1.322751e-4 weeks
3.044e-5 months
of preplanned lectures over each two year training period. This amount of time is suffi-cient to cover those areas requiring upgrading based on performance in the annual examination.
Page 3 Section 2.D. has been revised to require a minimtsn of 10 hours1.157407e-4 days
0.00278 hours
1.653439e-5 weeks
3.805e-6 months
of seminars each year. The simulator refresher training more aptly addresses those areas discussed during the scheduled seminars and minimizes the necessity for extensive on-site seminars.
In the first paragraph, last sentence of section 2.E. it is stated that operating drills may be conducted at the facility or a suitable simulator.
In tic last paragraph of section 2.E.
it is stated that, "an oral review of an operator's performance conducted j
after a reactor startup, shutdown or emergency operation may be used as a performance evaluation in lieu of designated operating drills."
Page 4 Section 3.E. has been added which states that, "Any licensed operator or senior operator who does not attend the required simulator refresher train-ing during his two year licensing period will be administered an oral ex-amination of two or more hours duration to detemine the operator's know-ledge of normal and emergency procedures and equipment. The oral examination will be administered by a qualified licensed senior operator."
