Dear Mr. Ziemann:
\\
l,Q',$a MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT D
Docket No. 50-263 License No. DPR-22 Mark I Short Term Program Final Report on February 14, 1975, and April 17, 1975, we received a request from you to conduct an evaluation of our Mark I containment on the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant. We previously respon-ded to your letters with our May 8 & 30, 1975 letters in which we provided a preliminary action plan to address the relief valve and LOCA load concerns.
Subsequent to that, and on our behalf, General Electric transmitted to Mr. Tedesco of the NRC Staff via Mr. I. F. Stuart's (GE) letter of June 13, e sumary of the Short Term Containment Program. The General Elec-tric reference plant analysis that was discussed with you by General Electric on April 10 was further documented and updated to include the commitments made by Dr. Geza Gyorey's (GE)
Jane 26, 1975 letter to Mr. A. Maccary (NRC). In addition, Gen-eral Electric transmitted their work on the safety / relief valve vent clearing model to you via General Electric's July 8 letter, and in report NEDO -20942P.
On July 31, 1975, GE transmitted a Status Report on the Mark I containment in a letter from I. F. Stuart to A. Giambusse.
General Electric is submitting the Final Report NEDC-20989, Vol. I, II, III, IV and V on the Mark I Short Term Program.
The objective of t'ae program was to confirm that during the loss of coolant accident there would not be a loss of contain-ment function given the most probable course of events.
We have reviewed the information presented in the above Final Raport and have evaluated the work conducted. This work has 9102120647 751006 PDit ADOCK OSO 3
