X7BC24 Log:

GN-383 Attention:. Mr. James P. O'Reilly In our letter of June 26,1984(File: X7BC24, Log: GN-377),in response to I&E Bulletin 83-07, "Apparently Fraudulent Products Sold by Ray Miller,. Inc.". Georgia Power' Company made the statement that "no materials supplied by Ray Miller, Inc. have been used in or provided for safety-related applications at the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant."

-This statement may appear to contradict information supplied in the in-vestigation' summary attached to the' letter; therefore, Georgia Power Company wishes to make a point of clarification on this matter.

A ten foot section of Schedule 40 S/S 304L, 1-1/4 inch pipe from Ray Miller.. Inc. was supplied to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant by Modern Welding Company, Inc. in an Auxiliary Building sump lining assembly for a safety-related system. The sump lining assembly was scrapped for Ray Miller issue was identified)quirements in May,1979 (long before the failure to meet. specification re and was never installed in the plant.

I hope this: clarification precludes any misunderstanding o' the in-tent of our response to I&E Bulletin 83-07. This letter contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

Sincerely, G

D. O. Foster REF/D0F/tdm p
