This repor.t outlines the resting of ITT Grinnell's .;1:e 2A rigure 215 stiff clamp under an oven-hcate,d condition.

PURPOSE -

The purpose of this report is to identify any torge loss due

to temperature, TESTING. .AP P A_R ATUS .

' OLTRA Temperature oven, 760* farenheit capacity; L;.ds and North-rup speedor.ax recorder. 20000 farenheit capacity, e 1.ibrated October 21.'1982.

TES_T SET _UP The pipe clamp shall be secured around the pipe spc'1. *A thermal couple shall be tack welded to the pipe spool to a: are that the spool will reach a maximum t'emperature of 650 0 fare. helt. Place the clamp in the oven and attach the thermal coupit to the re-corder.

PROCEDURE

1. We' secured the pipe clamp around the spool wit!: s torque value of 40 foot.Ibs. Our installation I'nstructic'ns adicate that 35 foot lbs. are required for the size 2A clamp. We increased the torque by fifteen (15) percent in order to .imulate a pressurised pipe line. .

2. Place the clamp and spool in the oven..
