Dear Sir:
Your letter to Bingham-Willamette Co. of August 1983 stated the NRC position regarding QA Program requirements for suppliers of cali-bration services.
It was the position of the NRC that the National Bureau of Standards did not require pre-award evaluation by the purchaser.
State Agencies certified by the N.B.S., such as the Pennsylvania Dept. of Agriculture, Weights and Measure Division are considered to be an extension of the N.B.S.
These agencies work to the same standards as N.B.S. and are certified every other year for areas of competency.
If a state agency is certified by the N.B.S. in an area that a purchaser requires calibration services, does the agency require pre-award evaluations and post-award audits.
