Dear Mr. Chilk:

Please find enclosed for consideration by the Comission UNIVERSITY'S RESPONSE IN OPPOSITION TO COMMITTEE TO BRIDGE THE GAP'S JUNE 22, 1984 EMERGENCY PETITION.

University assumes that the petition filed by the Comittee to Bridge the Gap (CBG) on June 22nd was intended as a petition submitted pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 92.206, although it does not fully comply with the requirements of that regulation. University notes that on June 28, 1984 Executive Director for Operations William Dircks informed the Comissioners that the staff understood that CBG intended to file such a petition requesting an order requiring UCLA to ship its irradiated fuel prior to the Olympic Games.

Very truly yours, i

p ll .
