Attached, pursuant to our telephone conversation of a few minutes ago, is a telecopy of LILCO's certification pursuant to the Commission's decision yesterday, CLI-92-04, authorizing transfer of the NRC license for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station to the Long Island Power

' Authority. A hard copy is being sent by regular mail.

If the Staff hads this form of certification acceptable, I request, on behalf of LILCO, that the Staff authorize transfer of the Shoreham license forthwith.

vicE *stsiot NT - Nuctt AR opt n Attong February 27, 1992 CERTIFICATION OF LONG ISLAND LIGHTING COMPANY REGARDING SHOREHAM LICENSE TRANSPER TO LONG ISLAND POWER AUTHORITY This certifies, pursuant to the Commission's February 26, 1992 Memorandum and Order, CLI-92-04, authorizing the immediately offective transfer of NRC license NPF-82, as amended, for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station (the " License") from Long Island Lighting Company to the Long Island Power Authority, that LILCO'will retain and maintain adequate capability and qualifications to-take over the License promptly in the event that LIPA, following receipt of the License, ceases to exist or is otherwise found to be unqualified to hold the License. This also certifies that LILCO understands and accepts that in the event of either of these contingencies the License would revert to LILCO.
