COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELEC1RIC STAT 10f1 Uti!T 2 DOCKE1 fl0. 50 446 POTENTI Al LOSS Of RHR DUE T0 f LOODIf1G SDAR: CP 92 03 (!!1TERlli REPORT)
Gentlemen:
On November 26, 1991. TV Electric discovered a deviation concerning the flooding analysis for Unit 2.
The input for the flooding analysis was obt Tined f rom plant walkdowns which f ailed to consider HVAC ducts and transfer registers as potential flooding paths.
The last report logged TXX-92037, dated January 24, 1992, stattd that the reportability evaluation of this issue would be complete by February 27, 1992.
A comprehensive evaluation of calculations and physical HVAC drawings for the Safeguards Building and the Auxiliary Building determined that the calculated flooding el <ations in sixteen rooms are potentially affected by such ducts and/or opertags.
The flooding analysie calcclation for each of the two buildings will be revised to account for these potential flood paths.

The walkdown procedure has been revised to include consideration of ducts, vents, and openings well above the floor level.
The need for design changes to replace or modify the HVAC ducts and/or vents in question will be determined based on the results of the reanalysis.
The reportability i
evaluation on this issue is continuing and is expected to be completed by April 24, 1992. -The next report on this issut will be submitted upon
}
completion of this evaluation.
Sincerely, William J. Cahill, Jr.
