D.C. 20555 SUBJECT; COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION Unit 2 DOCKET NO 50-446 LINEAR INDICATION IN A 150# FLANGE SDAR: CP 92 002 (FINAL REPORT) Ge.ttlemen: On November 27, 1991. TO Electric discovered a linear indication in a 10 inch 150# flange on a vendor supplied spool in the Auxiliary Feedwater System. Our last report, logged TXX 92036, dated January 24. 1992. stated that the reportability evaluation f or this issue would be completed by February 27, 1992. The evaluation has now concluded that the indication found in the flange would not propagtte or cause a fracture to occur during design operating or testing conditions. Therefore, no substantial safety hazard exists and this issue is not reportable pursuant to 100FR50.55(e) and 10CFR21. The deficient flange has been replaced via the corrective action process.
