HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-354 SALT DRIFT MONITORING PROGRAM As required by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-120, Condi-tion No. 5, issued for Hope Creek Generating Station, and as committed to in Section 13.5 of the Hope Creek Generating Station OLER, PSE&G is planning to conduct a preoperational and operational monitoring program to evaluate the ef fects of salt deposition from the Hope Creek cooling tower on the-environment. According to the HCGS Construction Permit, this monitoring program must be " acceptable to the Regula-tory Staff."

Informal discussions with Dr. Germain LaRoche and Mr. David Wagner of your staf f have taken place concerning the attached technical specification outlining the preopera-tional stage of the salt drift monitoring program, and we believe the program is acceptable to them.
