INTERIM REPORT NO. U-73 UNDERSIZED POWER-OPERATED RELIEF VALVE RELAY CALLAWAY UNIT 1 On Friday, March 2, 1984, we provided Mr. Bob Lerch of Region III verbal notification of a 10CFR50.55(e) report regarding a deficiency in the design of the PORV relay circuit.

On Friday, March 30, 1984, an extension was granted to

April 6, 1984, by Mr. Jay Harrison of Region III. The problem i involves the sizing of the PORV relays associated with PORV's PCV-455A and PCV-456A which renders the PORV's inoperable.

Since the same problem is applicable to both Callaway and Wolf Creek units, the deficiency is considered generic.

The final report is currently expected to be submitted by SNUPPS prior to April 13, 1984.
