IE BULLETIN 83-08 ELECTRICAL-CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH AN UNDERVOLTAGE TRIP FEATURE IN USE IN SAFETY-RELATED APPLICATIONS OTHER THAN THE REACTOR TRIP SYSTEM SALEM GENERATING STATION NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 PSE&G provides the following in response to th,is Bulletin.
Item 1 Identify applications of W type DB, W type DS, or GE type AK-2 circuit breakers with the undervoltage (UV) trip feature as discussed in IE Bulletin 83-01 or 83-04 in safety-related applications other than as reactor trip breakers (RTBs).
Identify similar applications of other types of breakers by
~other manufacturers that use a UV trip feature.
Response
PSE&G has reviewed the circuit breakers in use at Salem Generating Station and has determined that we do not use W type DB, W type DS, or GE type AK-2 breakers in safety-related
. applications other than as RTBs, nor do we use any other
-manufacturer's breakers with UV features in any safety-related application.
Accordingly, the other actions required by this Bulletin are not applicable to Salem, h
