Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
IE Bulletin 83-07, entitled "Apparently Fraudulent Products Sold by Ray Miller, Inc.," requested each licensee to determine whether any Ray Miller supplied materials have been procured for use in safety related applications.
In accordance with this request, Alabama Power Company has conducted a review of the vendors listed in the attachments to the subject bulletin who may have included Ray Miller' components in safety related equipment sold to Alabama Power Company. This review resulted in a determination that Alabama Power Company had proqured material from 30 of the vendors listed in the attachments to the subject bulletin. A list of these vendors is provided in Attachment 1.
APCo contacted each of these vendors to determine whether material supplied by these vendors contained components supplied by Ray Miller, Inc. As a result of this effort, only Westinghouse has supplied equipment utilizing Ray Miller components. A determination whether the subject material is fraudulent is not required since it has been determined that the supplied naterial is limited to only two non-safety related items.
A total of 750 manhours was expended in the preparation of this response.
