E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docke t Number 50-244
Dear Dr. Murley:
A comprehensive review of the procurement activities for Ginna Station during the 1975-1979 time frame has been recently completed.
We have found that Rochester Gas and Electric Corp.
has never purchased any materials directly from Ray Miller, Inc.
Additionally, RG&E has never installed or received equipment from other suppliers which contain materials provided by Ray Miller, Inc.
Plans are currently being formulated for providing further assurance of the adequacy of purchased ma terials.
Whan implemented, samples of received materials will be periodically tested to detect major variations in specified ma terial properties.
Measures for testing pressure-retaining materials expect to be implemented by the nd of 1984 with structural materials to follow in 1985.
These measures which will enhance our existing quality assurance program controls for supplier evaluation, supplier auditing and receiving inspection will assure tha t ma terials used a t Ginna are suitable for installation and use.
