Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Cycle 10 Core Operating Limits Report, Revision 1 Pursuant to TMI-l Technical Specification Section 6.9.5.4, enclosed is a copy of the Cycle 10 Core Operating Limits Report (COLR), Revision 1.
This revision incorporates reductions in the Loss-of-Coolant Accident (LOCA) -
Limited Maximum Allowable Linear Heat Rate (MALHR) limits at the 2-foot level for Mk-B9 and Mk-88 fuel to address non-conservatisms in the Babcock and Wilcox Nuclear Technology (BWNT) NRC-approved LOCA Evaluation Model. This change does not effect the TMI-l core operating limits contained in the COLR (tilt, imbalance or rod index). This revision also replaces the overly conservative set of Core Monitoring System (CMS) kW/ft monitoring limits administratively installed at the beginning of Cycle 10 with the original limits proposed by Babcock and Wilcox Fuel Company (BWFC). These limits have been adjusted by the kW/ft reductions described above.
This change will avoid unwarranted alarms in the Control Room during transients.
The cycle-specific core operating limits contained in this report have been determined in accordance with Technical Specification 6.9.5.
