1, SUPPLEMENT 1 REACTOR VESSEL STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-57 DOCKET NO. 50-354 The Nhc issued Supplement 1 to Generic Letter (GL) 92-01, Revision 1 on May 19, 1995.
Part 1 of the Generic Letter requested licensees to describe those actions planned or taken to locate all data relevant to the determination of reactor pressure vessel integrity, or provide an explanation of why the existing database is considered complete.
In response to this request, Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) provides the following information for Hope Creek Generating Station.
The Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) 1992 response to GL 92-01, Revision 1 included data provided by General Electric during the Hope Creek Generating Station operating license review.
To locate additional reactor pressure vessel data which may be pertinent to Hope Creek Generating Station, PSE&G is participating in the BWR Vessel and Internals Project (BWRVIP) effort to review available industry data pertaining to vessel material chemistry which may be relevant to the determination of vessel integrity.
The BWRVIP Action Plan has been submitted to the NRC by letter dated August 10, 1995.
The BWRVIP effort will resolve any data inconsistencies found and address the potential impact on vessel integrity.
Resolution of any inconsistencies will be addressed in the BWRVIP response to Parts 2 through 4 of GL 92-01, Revision 1, Supplement 1.
A response to Parts 2 through 4 is due to the NRC by November 17, 1995.
It should be noted that some pertinent reactor vessel material data that is being gathered by the BWRVIP may not be available by the November 17, 1995 due date.
The BWRVIP, which PSE&G is supporting, has estimated that data collection, review, and compilation into a comprehensive database and report may take approximately 24 months to complete.
This schedule duration is based on the large volume of material that must be reviewed.
