Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY NORTH ANNA POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 SURRY POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 RESPONSE TO 1.E. BULLETIN No. 83-08 I.E. Bulletin No. 83--08, " Electrical Circuit Breakers with an Undervoltage Trip Feature in Use in Safety-Related Applications Other than the Reactor Trip System," dated December 28, 1983, requested licensees to identify applications of W type DS, W type DS, or GE type AK-2 circuit breakers with the undervoltage trip feature in safety related applications, other than as reactor trip breakers.

The bulletin also requested licensees to identify similar applicaticas of other types of breakers by other manufacturers that use an undervoltage trip feature.

If any breakers described above were identified by the licensee, certain additional actions were required.

We have reviewed the use of all breakers in safety-related applications at both North Anna and Surry and have determined that there are no breakers with undervoltage trip attachments of the type described in the bulletin in any safety-related systems at either station, except for the reactor trip breakers.

Therefore, no additional acticns in response to the bulletin are required.

The bulletin also requested the following information to help NRC evaluate the cost of the bulletin; staff time to perform requested review: 40 staff hours; staff time to prepare requested docunentation: 4 staff hours.

Very truly your l
