On November 11, 1991 TV Electric identified a defect involving a lack of weld penetration on the lef t bank starting air manifold assembly f or Unit 2, Train
'B' Emergency Diesel Generator.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50,55(e).
Specifically, during the installation of valve 200 0275 on the starting air manifold, a leck of weld penetration was observed.
The left bank manif old assembly, (3* pipe weld elbow to straight) down stream from valve 200-0275, has lack of weld penetration for approximately 175 degrees around the circumferential weld. This air manif old assembly was supplied by diesel generator manufacturer, Cooper Industries. Enterprise Engine Division.
The reportability evaluation for this issue is continuing and is scheduled for completion on April 13, 1992.
The next report on this issue will be submitted upon completion of the evaluation.
