NRC Letter to Duquesne Light Company dated June 26, 1991; TAC 75772 The referenced letter granted an exemption from the requirements of General Design Criterion 57 that allows the use of the existing recirculation spray heat exchanger radiation monitor sample line downstream
- valves, as an alternative to the original sample line isolation
- valves, for containment isolation.
This letter provides information regarding. the quality requirements for installation and maintenance of the radiation monitor sample piping between the recirculation spray heat exchanger river water piping and the I
isolation valves.

The sample lines were purchased and installed to QA Category I and Pipe Class Q3 requirements at the time of installation.
It is our intent to maintain the sample lines as Pipe Class Q2.
