Waterford 3 SES Docket No. 50-382 License No. NPF-38 Response to NRC Inspection Report 50-382/95-15 Gentlemen:
During the period of June 13-16, 1995, an NRC Augmented Inspection Team examined the facts surrounding a reactor trip and non-safety related switchgear fire that occurred at Waterford 3 on June 10, 1995.
NRC Inspection Report 50-382/95-15 requested that Waterford 3 provide information regarding the efforts to identify the root cause of the faulty fast bus transfer. Waterford 3 should be prepared to provide this I
information by December 15, 1995. This date was selected due to additional testing and troubleshooting on the bus transfer circuitry that must be performed during the Refuel 7 Outage.
The information obtained from this testing will be used in finalizing the root cause of the faulty fast bus transfer. The Waterford 3 Refuel 7 Outage is currently scheduled to start on September 22, 1995.
