Georgia Power Company has named Mr. C. Alan Martin as Vice President - Human Resources reporting to Mr. H. Allen Franklin, Chief Executive Oflicer (CEO) of the Company, in connection with Southern System-wide "functionalization" of services for specific human resources functions.
Mr. Martin will also report to Mr. A. W. (Bill) Dahlberg, Southern Company President and Chief Executive Officer, and other specific Southern Electric System CEOs (i.e., Alabama Power Company, Southern Company Services, Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Savannah Electric and Power Company, Gulf Power Company and Mississippi Power Company) relative to human resources services for those respective companies. Human resources services that will report to Mr. Martin include compensation / benefits, leadership development, training, organizational effectiveness and stafling.
Southern Nuclear Operating Company Vice President - Administrative Services, remains responsible for providing certain corporate administrative services to Georgia Power, including nuclear operations-related support functions (such as access authorization and fitness for duty), and financial services, public affairs, security (corporate only), and general human resources services. As Vice President - Human Resources of Southern Nuclear, Mr. Martin will report to Mr. W. G. Hairston, III, Southern Nuclear President and CEO. The Southern Nuclear Vice President - Administrative Services, currently Mr. James W. Averett, continues to report to the Senior Vice President and Corporate Counsel, currently Mr. James H. Miller, III.
