Gentlemen:
On October 22. 1991 TU '.",r.tric identified a defect involving incomplete fusion ia the manufactutn seam weld on a tube steel member.
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

Specifically, on pipe support FW-2 020-700-C52R, incomplete fusion.was noted for approximately 17 inches on the inside seam of a 10"x10"x5/8" tube steel I
member.
This tube steel was from heat number C97278, was manufactured by Copperweld Tubing Group in January 1980, and was subsequently supplied by Hills Alloy Steel in March 1980.
The reportabiiity evaluation for this issue is continuing and is scheduled for completion or. June 24, 1992.
The next report on this issue will be submitted upon completion of the evaluation,
