The low S/G levels were caused by the loss of 12 SGFP. Subsequent imestigation restated that wear of the overspeed trip latch mechanism ns the root cause. Repairs were made to the affected pump and the preventive maintenance procedure for overhauling the SGFP was revised to require examination of the trip mechanism.

l DOCKET NO. 50-317 CALVERT CLIFFS - UNIT I July 14,1995

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE June 1995 The unit began the month at 100% power (840 MWe).

On 06/16/95 at 1917 the unit was manually tripped following the loss of 12 Steam Generator Feed Pump (SGFP). An investigation revealed that wear of the overspeed latch mechanism, over a period of many years, to be the cause of the loss of 12 SOFP. The overspeed trip mechanism was repaired and the unit was restarted.

The unit was paralleled to the grid on 06/21/95 at 1618. Power was returned to 100% (825 MWe) at 0346 on 06/23/95.

The unit ended the month at 100% power (835 MWe).
