Feedwater Nozzle Inspection Technique Qualification - Final Report j In Reference (f), Vermont Yankee transmitted to NRC an interim EPRI report in support of the  ;

inspection technique for feedwater nozzles utihzed by Vennont Yankee during the 1995 refueling j outage. In Reference (g), the NRC staff concluded that, based upon the information submitted and an independent staff analysis, Vermont Yankee could use the proposed UT inspection technique in lieu of M examination for the feedwater nozzles for the Spnng,1995 refueling outage. Final i approval of Vermont Yankee's inspection technique and interval was determined by the staff in  !

Reference (g) to be dependent upon the results of the final UT technique qualification. 'Ihe NRC l staff committed to review the results from the completion of the qualification pivgrim when  !

available and issue a final evaluation. 1 i

Enclosed please find a copy of the final EPRI Report for this issue, entitled "Inside Surface - [

Ultrasonic Technique Capabdities as Demonstrated for the Inspection of Feedwater Nozzles", with an EPRI cover letter dated June 20,1995. This final report summarizes the quali&atina of the inspection technique utilized by Vermont Yankee. 'Ihe demonstration was successful in l documenting the ultrasonic procedures and equipment considered for use in inspection of the t feedwater nozzle inner radius region.  !

We trust that this report will result in final NRC approval of Vermont Yankee's inspection technique and interval. Should you have any questions or require additional information, please l contact this office.  :
