Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units 2 and 3 R. D. 1, Delta, Pennsylvania 17314 Identification of Deviation:

Loss of the second fan on the 'C' cooling tower.

Conditions Prior to Deviation:

Units 2 and 3 both operating essentially at full power.

Description of Deviation:

With the tower in service, the

'F' fan drive train was observed to have excessive oil leakage. The

'D' fan was not in service due to a previous bearing box failere. See 50-277/278-75-3 Designation of Apparent Cause of Deviation:

Several small fitting leaks in oil lines.

As there were nine of eleven fans running, there were no significant environmental consequences as a result of the inoperability of this far..

The water temperature leaving the tower changed only slightly. River flows during this period were in excess of 76,000 cf s.

Correctivre Action:

All the small fitting leaks were repaired.
