C_onditions Prior to Deviation:
With the 'C' cooling tower out of service for scheduled main-tenance (less than 48 hours5.555556e-4 days <br />0.0133 hours <br />7.936508e-5 weeks <br />1.8264e-5 months <br />) the
'A' cooling tower was removed from service due to a qross leak on the distribution header.
Designation of Apparent Cause of Deviation:
Failure of the banding' around the distribution header ich resulted in the blowout of a portion of this wooden structure.

Analysis of-Deviation:
.f The
'A' tower was out of service for approximately 16 hours1.851852e-4 days <br />0.00444 hours <br />2.645503e-5 weeks <br />6.088e-6 months <br />.
There was no significant effect on the ecology of the river. Both the
'A' and 'C' cooling towers were returned to service on Friday, June 20, 1975 River flow during this period was in excess of 36,000 cfs.
Corrective Action:
The damaged wooden planking was replaced by a steel band secured by stainless steel clamps. The tower was returned to service.
