R.M. Pulsifer to D.L. Farrar letter dated June 8,1995 In the Referenced letter, the NRC Staff transmitted a Safety Evaluation for the proposed repair of the Quad Cities Station Core Shroud. Commonwealth Edison (Comed) has completed a technical review of the NRC Staff Safety Evaluation, and has identified three technical corrections. These are described in the attachment to this letter. Comed requests inclusion of these technical corrections into subsequent revisions to the Safety Evaluation.
To the best of my knowledge and belief, the analyses and evaluations contained in these documents are true and correct. In some respects these documents are not based on my personal knowledge, but on information furnished by other Commonwealth Edison employees, contractor employees, and/or consultants. Such information has been reviewed in accordance with company practice, and I believe it to be reliable.

ATTACHMENT Technical Corrections to USNRC Staff Safety Evaluation, d%ed June 8,1995 Quad Cities Station Units 1 and 2 Core Shroud Repair Comed has identified three technical corrections to the NRC Staff Safety Evaluation for the Quad Cities Station Unit 1 and Unit 2 Core Shroud repair. These are described below. The suggested correction is underlined and highlighted by bold type.

Page 3, Section 2.1, first paragraph, third sentence, Change the last statement to read as follows:
"As stated in Section 2.3.2, Comed also inspected the vertical welds and determined that un cracking in these welds he been found."
2.
Page 4, Section 2.2, third paragraph, fourth sentence, in order to make this section consistent with section 2.4.6 on page 14, change the sentence to read as follows:
" Vertical separation for any and all welds is precluded exceptfor the postulated design events addressed in section 2.4.6 of this SE

Page 18, section 2.5.2, Change the first paragraph, first sentence, after item "6" to read as follows:
".... which connects the steam dam to theflange and, (b) six (6) circumferential..... ). "
