Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units 2 & 3 R.D. #1, Delta, Pennsylvania 17314 Identification of Deviation:
Inoperabili ty of
'B' cooling tower for approximately two hours wi th river flows less than 10,000 cfs.
Condi tions Prior to Deviation:
Units 2 and 3 were operating at approximately 55% power.
Description of Deviation:
At approximately 2:40 p.m.,
on August 29, 1975, the 'Br cooling tower lif t pump tripped. River flows at thi s time were ap-proximately 7800 cfs.
The
'A' and
'C' cooling towers were operational at this time.
Designation of Apparent Cause of Deviation:

The total period of time that the
'B' cooling tower was out of service was approximately 2 hours2.314815e-5 days <br />5.555556e-4 hours <br />3.306878e-6 weeks <br />7.61e-7 months <br />.
Temperature monitoring did not show any signi ficant changes in downstream river temperatures during the period the cooling tower was out of service. This deviation is not expected to have a significant effect on river temperatures.
Corrective Action:
The
'B' cooling tower lif t pump lubricating water filter and flow switch were cleaned and the pump returned to service.
Stable lift pump operation was accomplished at 4:25p.m.on8/29/75.
