Loss of a second fan on the "C" cooling tower.

Condit ions Prior to Deviation:

Both units at about 55% power.

Description of Deviation:

With the tower in service, the 'E' f an tripped due to a high vibration signal, while the 'F' fan was out of service for maintenance.

Designation of Apparent Cause of Deviation:

Under investigation.

Analysis of Deviation _:

The 'C' fan was out of service for about 30 minutes. Due to the reduced plant power level and the short duration of the fan outage, no significant environmental impact resulted.

Corrective Action:

  • The f an was returned to service without excessive vibration.
