VIA FACSIMIII Administrative Judge Peter B. Bloch, Chairman Administrative Judge James H. Carpenter Administrative Judge Thomas D. Murphy Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (Georgia Power).
U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Re:
Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2, License Amendment (Transfer to Southern Nuclear), ASLBP No. 93-671-01-OLA-3 Gentlemen:
It is apparent from funher preparation of cross examination for Mr. Mosbaugh that it will be virtually impossible for Georgia Power to complete its examination of this witness in the 21/2 days of hearing scheduled for July 6-8 in Rockville While I greatly appreciate the Board's willingness to maintain the flexibility of moving the hearings to Augusta the week of July 10, it is clear, given Intervenor's insistence that Mr. Mosbaugh be cross-examined in Rockville, that there is no real chance of maintaining that schedule. Accordingly, I believe the Board and parties should plan on continuing the hearing in Rockville the week of July 10 to complete Mr.
Mosbaugh and fill the week with other Intervenor-called witnesses, retuming to Augusta the week of July 17.
Sincerely, fn Emest L. Blake, Jr.
