I Al H15-3574761 June 26,1995 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, D. C. 20556 This special report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 1 Operating Ucense NPF-11, Appendix A, and Technical Specifications 3.7.6 and 6.6.c.
Technical Specification 3.7.6 requires that all fire rated assemblies and all sealing devices in fire rated assemblies (fire doors, fire windows, fire dampers, cable and piping penetration seals, and ventilation seals) separating safety related fire areas or separating portions of redundant systems important to safe shutdown within a fire area shall be operable at all times.
On June 2,1995, at 1430 hours0.0166 days <br />0.397 hours <br />0.00236 weeks <br />5.44115e-4 months <br />, Fire Door 300 was inoperable for a period greater than seven days. The door was opened on May 26,1995, at 1430 hours0.0166 days <br />0.397 hours <br />0.00236 weeks <br />5.44115e-4 months <br /> to allow portable cooling equipment to be placed in the door opening while maintenance was being performed on the Computer Room Air Conditioning Unit in accordance with Work Request Number 950047319.
Fire Door 300 is located in the Auxiliary Building on elevation 768' and separates Fire Zone 4C3 from Fire Zone 4C4.An Hourly Fire Watch was established in accordance with the Action Statement of Technical Specification 3.7.6 to inspect the affected areas while the door was open. A Special Report is required because the door was not restored to an operable status within seven days. Door 300 was retumed to an operable status (i.e., closed) on June 12,1995, at 0820 hours0.00949 days <br />0.228 hours <br />0.00136 weeks <br />3.1201e-4 months <br />.
