Voluntary Participation in Westinghouse Developed Cognitive Environment Simulation Project Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is tc. respond to the Reference which requested Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation's (WCNOC) participation in-the Westinghov.se developed Cognitive Environment Simulation Project.
This project attempts to model the problem-solving and decision-making processes of human operators during emergencies.
i VCNOC's participation in this project is contingent upon the project not impacting the licensed operator treining schedule at Wolf Creek Generating Station. Additionally, as indicated in the Reference, Westinghouse intends to develop a scenario with a WCNOC simulator instructor and then videotape the performance of an operating crew during requalification training.

WCNOC's preference that the videotape remain on site.
