NRC Generic Letter (GL) 89-10 " Safety Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing i
and Surveillance - 10CFR 50.54 (f)," item m, requires recensees to notify the j
NRC in writing within 30 days after the actions described in the first paragraph of item i of the GL have been completed. The purpose of this letter is to provide the NRC with notification that these actions were completed on May 20, j
1995, for Umerick Generating Station (LGS) Unit 2 valves in accordance with j
PECO Energy Company's commitments as documented in the referenced letters. A GL 89-10 program completion report, as well as supporting technical i
information, is.being prepared and will be available for review.

June 16,1995 Page 2 irt response to GL 89-10, PECO Energy developed and implemented a program to verify the design basis capability of motor operated valves (MOVs) that were within the scope of the GL. In accordance with our GL 89-10 program, the LGS Unit 2 MOVs have been tested and setup with the best available data.
PECO Energy has made a significant commitment of resources toward implementing the GL 89-10 program at LGS. Completion of the program

involved more tN A a five year effort. Future program changes deemed necessary in response to emerging issues and newly available data will be handled under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.59.
