Ceneric Letter 88-11, dated July 12, 1988, "NRC Position on Radiation Embrittlement of Reactor Vessel Material and Its Impact on Plant Operations" By correspondence dated July 19, 1991, TVA submitted a request for TS amendment to revise the pressure / temperature limit curves to make them consistent with the guidance contained in the reference.

Base Materials RPV shell courses were fabricated by rolling plate material to contour and velding the plates together with longitudinal seams using electroslag (ES) welding with HiMnMo consumables.
Shell courses were joined together with circumferential velds using automatic submerged arc (ASA) welding to form the final reactor vessel.
