Ca ENCLOSURE BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PIMiT UNITS 1 AND 2 NONROUTINE 30-DAY REPORT Description of Occurrence Certain single failures in the piping system of the centrol bay air conditicning equipment (CBACE) could result in the less of coeling water to all control bay cooling equipment.

Causes of Deficiency The deficiency arises due to the fact that the normal and emergency water supplies to the centrol bay chillers share a cc::: mon distribution header. The discharga lines have a similar situation.

Safety Implicatiens Since the operability of the control bay air conditioning equipment c:ast be assured, system separaticn will be desirable to increase reliability. This will require a provisicn for separate operation of the emergency ennling aquiprant f'e nm +ba nneral centrol hay a.f r conditioning system.

Corrective Measures Seismically qualified piping and valves will be c.dded to the existing system to cbtain the desired separatien. This involves ccnnecting the EECW water supply directly to the e.cergency chiller and providing separate discharge piping frcr. this chiller into the EECW discharge f conduit. ECN-L1321 was issued to make these desi 6 n changes. Corrective measures will be implemented by March 15, 1975 s
