Dear Mr. Bettenhaus'en:

The purpose of this letter is to provide the results of Duquense Light Company's evaluation of the Licensed Operator Requaliffr.ation Examination conducted at Unit I the weeks of August 12 and August 19, 1991. A summmary of the examination results is provided along with individual results for each operator examined. These examination res"'t: !..&c.

a that the Beaver Valley Licensed Operator Requalification Program is satisf actory overall and that some oper* tor retraining is needed in defined areas.

We have taken necessary corrective actions based on the examination results. The individual who failed the plant walk through portion and the crew that failed to meet our expected performance level vill be upgraded and re-evaluated.

In addition a list of ars is needing general training emphasis is attached, and is being used to enhance the operator retraining program.

In ow view the current examination process continues to work well.

The NRC Examination Team interacted effectively with t$eaver Valley personnel to adminster the examination.

Written Exam Section A Effects of a closed MSIV on the setpoint calculations for OPDT and 0 TDT trips.

Use of steam tables to detern.ine the state of a fluid following an isenthalpic throttling piocess at low temperatures and pressure.
