Because your letter of May 26, 1983 came during a time when our regular Radiation Safety Officer was on vacation and because some members of our nuclear reactor committee are away during the summer months, it will be difficult to re-arrange and edit the emergency preparedness plans and to have them reviewed by the Committee in time for us to obtain any new letters of agreement before July 16, 1983.
In order to achieve all of these goals in a timely manner, we request an extension of our deadline for 60 days, if possible. We feel that our responses could be made with greater care and deliber-ation within that time frame.
