Gentlemen:

New Hampshire Ycnkee (NilY) notified the NRC in Reference (b) that it would be utilizing the Fluoroborate Selective lon Electrode Method for post accident baron concentra' ion analysis. Subs quently on March 30, 1988, NHY reported in Refercuce (c) that it had opted to utili7e Mannitol Titrations equipment for post accident boron concentration analysis due to its superior operational simplicity and consistently reliable results. The NRC approved the cie. of the new method in Safety Evaluation Report Supplement No. 8

Implementation of the use of Mannitol Titrations equipment for boron measurement was complet :d in April 1988 at which time, procedures for use of the equipment were approved and made effective. New Hampshire Yankee has no additional action and this item is closed.
