SMALL BREAK ANALYSIS - RESPONSE TO K-5020 (Qi'S ANALY3IS)

Purpose of Conference: Discuss K-5020 with B&W to see if they needed any other information to prepara a response. ,.

Summary: . .

. 1. The discussion lasted about 1-1/2 hours (CM did the talking for T7A) with nothing really settled concerning specific comments by B&W to the letter. It appeared that B&W had not taken sufficient time to study the letter. Their response essentially glossed over the time frama of the event that was ths' central part of CM's concerns.

2. B&W noted they had satisfied NRC about all break sizes between double-ended2 break of the largest pipe to that of just exceeding a LOCA (0.05 ft )., ,. ,
3. TVA finally decided just to ask B&W to . scuss at item 2, above, in a letter to TVA. No further analysis by B&W w a requested.

B&W said they would need to get back with us in a few days to tell us when they could respond. ,
