Recent management organization changes within Alabama Power Company have necessitated an administrative change to the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications. .

Attachment'l lists the changed Technical Specification pages and includes the proposed changed pages. The proposed changes do not involve a significant hazards consideration as defined in 10CFR50.92. These changes are similar to example (i) of " Examples of Amendments That Are Considered Not Likely To Involve Significant Hazards Considerations" listed in 48FR14870 dated April 6, 1983. These changes are similar, in that these changes are administrative, and are provided in order to have the technical specifications reflect the current Licensee Organizational Structure. The management change of placing the Vice President responsible for nuclear generation at the Senior Vice President Level is considered by Alabama Power Company to enhance Senior Managements involvment in Nuclear Operations and therefore enhances safety. It is requested that the NRC approve this proposed change by Hovember 12, 1984.

The Plant Operations Review Connittee has reviewed this proposed change and the Nuclear Operations Review Board will review this proposed change at a future meeting.

This proposed technical specification change is considered to be a Class II amendment for Unit 1 and Class I for Unit 2 in accordance with 10CFR170.22. A check in the amount of $1,600.00 is therefore enclosed.
