Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit I (TMI-1)
Operating License No. OPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Management Review for Restart Amendment 85 to the TMI-l Operating License requires in part that " Prior to initial criticality GPU Nuclear Corporation shall..... submit to NRC.... a summary of its management review" (See license paragraph 2.C.(8).1).
The purpose of this letter is to describe the methods being used to fblfill this license condition.
The "TMI-l Prerequisite Program" attached provides a description of the GPU Nuclear management review process used at TMI-1. The process described was used prior to the heattp conducted for the Steam Generator hot functional testing (Flag 1) and is being used for management approval for final heatup and proceeding to criticality through 48% reactor power (Flag 2 and 2A).
The conclusion of the Restart Readiness Review Committee and a report of the Flag 2A meeting results will be forwarded following the Flag 2A meeting. That submittal will satisfy license conditions 2.C.(8).l.
