SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE 2
i Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit No. 1, operated at approximately 50% of Full Power through March 17, 1983.
At 2200-E hours on March 17, 1983, load reduction commenced to shut-down for modification of the Westinghouse D-3 Steam Generators.. Plant cooldown began at 0930 hours0.0108 days <br />0.258 hours <br />0.00154 weeks <br />3.53865e-4 months <br /> on March 18,-1983.

The annual Emergency. Drill was held on March 16, 1983 At 1345 hours0.0156 days <br />0.374 hours <br />0.00222 weeks <br />5.117725e-4 months <br /> on March 18, 1983, with the Plant in Mode 4, a Safety Injection actuation, Train " A",
was initiated by I&C personnel performing Solid State Protection testing.
The Safety Injection was declared spurious and reset.
The pressurizer safety valves did not 31ft, and the pressurizer relief tank level showed no increase.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission was notified in accordance with 10 CFR 50.72.
No equipment damage or personnel exposure resulted from this incident.
Plant cooldown for the outage was continued.
At 1405 hoars on March 19, 1983, with the Plant in Mode 5, a Safety Injection actuation occurred on Train "A".
The Safety Injection was declared spurious' and was immediately - terminated.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission was notified in accordance with 10 CFR 50.72.
No equipment damage or personnel exposure resulted-from this incident.
On March 20, 1983, draining of Steam Generators B and C was commenced in preparation for planned Steam Generator work, i
