Dear Mr. Knuth:

j As a result of an apparent failure of the torus spray header supports on Browns Ferry unit 1, an initial report of a potential design deficiency covering units 2 and 3 was reported to Region II R0 Office, May 14, 1974, in accordance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR 50. With respect to our 30 day report in accordance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR 50, we wish to reference Abnormal Occurrence Report No. BFAO-7431W submitted by our letter, E. F. Thomas'to John F. O' Leary, dated May 24, 1974. The corrective action for unit 1 also applies to units 2 and 3.

It has been completed on unit 2 and will be completed on unit 3 before fuel loading.

In conformance with paragraph 50.55(e) of 10 CFR 50, this is submitted as a final report involving the torus spray header i support failure.
